Every two years taxidermists from around the world converge on Springfield, Illinois for the biggest event in animal stuffing - the world taxidermy championships. This documentary uses the 2005 ceremony as a way into the lives of a handful of the individuals who spend their spare time mounting dead animals and taking part in local competitions on their way to the big time.

Pretty Bloody: The Women of Horror is a television documentary film that premiered on the Canadian cable network Space on February 25, 2009. The documentary was filmed in Toronto, Canada; and in Los Angeles, California and New York City, New York in the US.

According to The History of Japanese Animation written by Katsunori Yamaguchi and Yasushi Watanabe, the picture-story scene at the beginning of the film and the scene of the raccoon dog dancing at the end were added in this version.
