Season two began production in August, 2007 with most of the shooting taking place on location in Provincetown, Massachusetts. The season premiered on OUTtv on 19 November 2007 at 10:00pm, EST. During the commercial breaks in the season's pilot episode, clips and interviews from the premier party were shown. Season three began production in August, 2008. Taxicab Confessions is a television series of hidden camera documentaries that have aired on HBO since January 1995. In segments taped in New York City and Las Vegas, the taxi drivers are also producers who steer both the vehicle and the conversations with passengers. When passengers enter the cab, they are recorded with several small cameras hidden in the taxi. The producer prompts passengers into discussing their past and/or present circumstances. This has led some participants to reflect on their life, recalling extreme tragedies or triumphs. Much is verbally or visually graphic, including explicit sex talk and sex acts performed in the back seat. At the end of the taxi ride, passengers are asked to sign waivers allowing the hidden camera footage to be used on the program, and footage of this revelation is sometimes seen during the closing credits.

Kozono Yohei, secretary general of Shoto University, was found stabbed to death in his home. Hoshino Naoto, a detective at Fujimi Police Station, rushes to the scene and sees the scene of the murder in the living room. Tanimura Kaho, a lecturer at Shoto University's Department of International Studies, is trying to get ahead in life at any cost, and has been having an affair with Kozono, who holds the right to personnel affairs, for half a year. Kozono is murdered, and Kaho is arrested as a murderer. On the other hand, reporter Maruyama Sota receives information about the affair via anonymous email, and realizes that someone is trying to manipulate the impression of the incident, and begins his own investigation. In the midst of this, Hoshino feels uncomfortable with the investigative policy of the upper-level police, which concludes that Kaho is the culprit in a half-baked investigation, and eventually realizes that Kaho may have been framed by someone.
