    The mysterious Emmie is arrested late one night in the ruins of an old house. Brigadier Rosa Scheffers suspects that something unusual is afoot, and uses the opportunity to re-establish a special unit: Sergeant Beatrice Mack and Colonel Bas Koorts call themselves the Spreeus. Soon, it appears that Rosa's suspicions were correct.

    Emmie's jealous husband, Petrus, tries to convince the Spreeus that she is out of her mind. Bas suspects he is not telling them the full story, and a supernatural encounter confirms his suspicions. Beatrice remains skeptical and Bas's attempts to convince her almost lead to fatal consequences for Emmie.

    Local policeman Vonnie helps the Spreeus solve the mystery of the mysterious hitch-hiker. But to stop the deaths along the road, they need to dig up the past, and try to heal old wounds. Bas and Beatrice's plan tries to bring consolation, not only for the ghosts, but for the town itself.

    Twenty years after he was forced to leave the country, gang boss Shaun Vink returns from overseas. His daughter's life is in danger, and the only suspect is Lou, a shadow from his past. Bas and Beatrice discover that Lou's evil goes far beyond drugs and temptation.

    Degrassi High is the third television show in the Degrassi series of teen dramas about the lives of a group of teenagers living on or near De Grassi Street in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
