Overview: 8 Out of 10 Cats is a British television comedy panel game produced by Zeppotron for Channel 4. It was first broadcast on 3 June 2005. The show is based on statistics and opinion polls, and draws on polls produced by a variety of organizations and new polls commissioned for the programme, carried out by company Harris Poll. The show's title is derived from a well-known advertising tagline for Whiskas cat food, which originally claimed that "8 out of 10 cats prefer Whiskas".

The topical comedy panel show returns for a cracking Christmas special that includes the star families from Gogglebox who provide a running commentary review throughout this edition. Stand-up comic and presenter Jimmy Carr is at the helm to oversee the disputes and deliberations on the festive topics that set the great British public's chins wagging. Comedians Jon Richardson and Sean Lock head up the teams for this year's Christmas capers and are joined by Holly Willoughby, Henning Wehn, Alan Davies and Roisin Conaty. Nick Helm and Joe Wilkinson make guest appearances.
Guests Andrew Flintoff, Ricky Wilson and Roisin Conaty join team captains Sean Lock and Jon Richardson to discuss and dissect a selection of the topical events that have set the British public's chins wagging in the run-up to Christmas, and there's also an appearance from The X Factor's Stevi Ritchie. Host Jimmy Carr oversees the disputes and deliberations.
Team captain Sean Lock is joined by Peter Andre and Seann Walsh to take on his opposite number Jon Richardson, who is ably supported by Roisin Conaty and Joe Lycett. A whole host of familiar faces from the worlds of comedy and entertainment also join in as the panellists cast their eyes over some of the most memorable stories of the year.
