Kusuo Saiki thought he could have an easy life despite his psychic abilities, but his sophomore year of high school quickly proves him wrong.
Kusuo inadvertently makes a brilliant dodgeball play in gym class, putting him on a collision course with his athletic classmates Kineshi and Riki.
Kusuo's extrasensory perception makes him unable to enjoy famous illusionist Uryoku Chono's show. Annoyed, Chono dares him to display his own magic.
Young medium Reita Toritsuka, who can see ghosts, asks Kusuo to take him on as a student in ESP, but Reita's motivations are anything but noble.
Kusuo changes his routine so that he can get home from school in time to watch anime. His worried friends, meanwhile, are searching all over for him.
